This class will cover fabric and all it’s intricacies and beyond basic sewing techniques. This is not a beginner class- we will assume you have some foundational sewing skills.


 Class 1-FABRIC

 Class 2: All About Patterns

a.     Choosing a Pattern

b.     Deciphering the Pattern Envelope

c.     Fabric plus the extras

Class 2 supplies: you will need to bring a simple pattern, like mittens or a fleece hat.  


  Class 3: Hand Sewing

a.    Basting

b.     Hemming

c.     Buttons

d.     Decorative Touches

Class 3 supplies: please bring some thread, sewing needles a couple of buttons and something you might consider a decorative touch for something you might sew.

Class 4: Simple project – we will be sewing a basic face mask.

Class 4 supplies: Please bring a piece of fabric minimum size 12” X 12” as well as 1 yard 1’4 “ elastic, sewing machine, thread.


If you do not own a sewing machine- you are welcome to use machines at the makerspace.  This class will take place in person and all participants will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
