Intro to IOT and the Arduino IDE is a two part series where students will be introduced to the Arduino IDE and micro controllers.

It will focus on the IDE and a simple inexpensive microcomputer development board. In the first class students will work within the IDE to learn and understand how to configure, program, work with inputs and outputs as well as debug their code using a microcomputers known as the ESP8266.

All skills learned will be directly relatable to other Arduino variants.

In class 2 students will learn how to use 3rd party code and connect their controllers to the internet and communicate with it though the computer browser or their phones.

This class is for interested students 13 and older.Students will be using an IOT development board based on the ESP 8266 which they get to keep for future classes or use in projects.

Students are encouraged to bring their own laptop for the class but can also borrow a laptop from the Makerspace during the class.

This class will be held in person at the Makerspace and all Covid protocals will be enforced including the wearing of masks.
