In Intro to Woodworking: How to Make a Basic Box, students will learn the fundamentals of woodworking by building a small wooden box, while also learning how to use the power tools available at Making Matters NH.  The plans that we’ll be following are provided by 


Learning this basic skill is the first step to make everything from custom cabinets to both small and large furniture.  If you are new to woodworking and want to start with a fun project to help learn from the ground up, then sign up today; space is limited!

  • Currently works for Preservation Timber Framing of Berwick, ME, restoring old homes, barns, and churches, and recently cutting & building new timber frame garages, kitchens, and barns

Note

Students will not be required to be checked-out on all of the power tools that we will be using.  Instead, we will go over how to safely use the tools for the specific cuts that we’ll be making over the course of the project.

Because of Covid protocols -You will be required to wear a mask.  Please bring your own safety glasses and ear protection. Making Matters NH will have a limited supply of safety glasses and hearing protection for you to purchase for as additional fee.
