Our popular 3-part 3d Printing for Beginner class condensed into single session! In this class, you'll get an introduction to 3d printing, learn to operate and maintain a 3d printer, and get an introduction to 3d printing software. Each student will have their own printer and laptop to work with during the class.

The first hour of the class will cover the basics of the 3d printer and how it works. You'll navigate the printer and print your own object.

The second hour will focus on how to set-up a printer for everyday use. You'll learn how the different moving parts of the printer work together. Students will learn how to tune the printer though proper build plate leveling as well as loading and unloading filament with ease. By the end of hour 2, Students will be able to use a 3d printer with confidence.

The class will wrap up by digging into the slicing software (Cura) that supports 3d printing. By the end of this part of the class, you'll have the knowledge needed to use Cura with any 3d printer to create high quality results.

We will conduct this class in person at the makerspace. Each participant will have their own printer to use and will be properly socially distanced. All participants must wear a mask while in the classroom and common spaces of the makerspace. If you are experiencing any symptoms or are awaiting the results of a covid test we ask that you stay home! This class requires a minimum of two students in order to run.
