Hands-on 3d Printing for Beginners is a 3 part series where students will learn how to operate and maintain a 3d Printer. Each student will have a printer to work with during the classes. Class 1 will cover the basics and by the end of the class they will have used the printer to print an object.

Class 2 will focus on how to set-up a printer for everyday use. Students will learn about how the different moving parts work together. They will learn how to tune the printer settings to ensure good results every time. By the end of Class 2, Students will be able to use a 3d printer with confidence. At this point they would be able to schedule and get cleared on us of the 3d Printers in the prototyping lab.

Class 3 will dig into the software (Cura) that supports 3d printing. By the end of Class 3 students will have the knowledge needed to fine tune their objects to create high quality detailed prints of just about anything they can dream up.

This is a 3 part series. We will conduct this class in person at the makerspace. Each participant will have their own printer to use and will be properly socially distanced. All unvaccinated participants must wear a mask while in the classroom and common spaces of the makerspace. If you are experiencing any symptoms or are awaiting the results of a covid test we ask that you stay home!

A minimum of two registrants is required to hold the class.
